On April 3, 2024, Rapper and Singer Rod Wave was arrested on two counts of illegally possessing a weapon and/or ammunition in Manatee County, Florida.

Police maintain that Rod Wave aka Rodarius Marcell Green was involved in a gang shooting in St. Petersburg, Florida that left four patrons of a Sonic Sports Bar wounded.

Fortunately for Rod Wave, the relevant Judge agreed with defense counsel that the evidence did not support the charges.

According to his defense counsel, no evidence linked Rod Wave to the incident.

The police claimed incorrectly that Rod Wave was a convicted felon; this was later discovered not to be true.

Rod was also not in possession of ammunition and as a non-felon could legally possess ammunition.

Rod had been charged with felony battery in 2022.

That charge was later dropped leaving Rod not a convicted felon.
