
NFL Star Tre Mason Tasered During Traffic Stop: Tre Mason, a running back for the Los Angeles Rams, was tasered twice during a traffic stop in South Florida. Mason was arrested for reckless driving and marijuana possession. Mason was initially stopped for driving over 70 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone near the beach in Hollywood, Florida. Things got worse as Mason refused to provide his driver’s license or name and the Officer smelled marijuana. ‘I warned the defendant if he did not identify himself he would be subject to arrest and he smirked as he was making eye contact.” Two officers attempted to drag Mason from the vehicle but were unable to do so. The officers warned Mason that he would be tasered if he failed to comply. When even the addition of a third officer did not remove Mason. Mason was tasered. After being removed from the vehicle, Mason refused to place his hands behind his back and was tasered again. Mason was taken to the hospital and was released. The police charged Mason with resisting arrest without violence, reckless driving, marijuana possession and failure to register a vehicle. Mason was driving his custom designed matte pearl white 2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo. Mason recorded the incident on his cellphone.

Mason was chosen in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Rams.
