Even Thembi Seete gets a speeding ticket:  Seete was a founding member of Boom Shaka a South African Band.  Boom Shaka‘s first single was It’s About Time and went public in 1993.  Boom Shaka was very successful in South Africa in the 1990s and became the theme for young South Africans during the governmental change in South Africa at that time. Boom Shaka became the leading kwaito group in South Africa and took on a life of its own.  Boom Shaka incorporates many dance moves that honor the working people of South Africa.

Boom Shaka took a leading role as a liberating force in South Africa as embodied in its music:

I’m tired
Of people always asking me
What’s happening, what’s going on
They try to see what’s in my head
Why can’t they leave me alone
(Chorus)
It’s about time
You Listened to Boom Shaka
It’s about time
You listened to Boom

My weapon is my voice…
